Good afternoon,

Things are VERY BUSY at Monsignor Haller and that is awesome!  A huge THANK YOU to the staff who take on so many extras for our students (ie. Athletics, excursions, extra-curricular clubs and activities, choir, eco initiatives, etc.).  Providing these many opportunities can only happen with a great deal of behind the scenes work and we are so thankful to be a part of such a wonderful community, filled with people willing to give their time.

Catholic Education Week ~ This week we will focus on the theme of “Restore, Rebuild, Renew Together” as we celebrate the gift of Catholic Education.  We have many books to read and many wonderful tasks to complete that will allow us all to demonstrate the “why” and the “how” Catholic Education is important to us all.

50th Anniversary Celebrations ~ This week we will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of our school community. All staff and students are attending Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church on Tuesday followed by a slideshow of memories. Guests are welcome to join us for our 1:00 pm start.

First Communion and Confirmation ~ This is a reminder that our grade 2 students and grade 7 students will be receiving the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation respectively next Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Church. What a beautiful celebration of their continued journey in faith.

Umbrellas Project Skills ~ We have been focusing on Cognitive Flexibility for the last month and as we head into May, we will be focused on developing the skill of Optimism!  Visit to learn more about Optimism and how it can help us every day to work with a sense of optimism!

Internet Safety ~ On Monday, May 9th, we are very excited to welcome Paul Davis, to speak with our grade 4-8 students about responsible use of technology and social media. Families are invited to attend a virtual parent presentation Thursday, May 12th beginning at 6:30 pm to also receive these very important messages to keep our students safe. Please review previous communications on our school website for details to pre-register for this parent event.

Track and Field ~ Our school track and field meet is on Thursday, May 12h for all students in Grades 4-8.  We will be traveling to Resurrection Catholic Secondary School via bus that day and we will be back in time for regular dismissal.  Please make sure your child brings a towel to sit on, lots of water and protection from the sun – hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, etc.  Also, please make sure that they dress appropriately for running, jumping and throwing.  Each student will be involved in several events that day.  It is very difficult to provide times as to when specific events will be held.  If we do not finish all of our events, we will complete them back at the school at a later date.  Ribbons will be given for the 1st place – 5th place students at each level in each event.  If you have any questions or you would like to volunteer on this day, please contact your child’s teacher.
