Good Morning Hawks,
We welcome families to the school on Tuesday September 10th from 5:00-6:30 for our Back to School Night! Please feel free to visit and see your child’s classroom and meet their new teacher for the year!
Parents are also invited to check out School Advisory Council’s Meet & Greet on Thursday September 12 at 6pm to meet council members and learn a little bit about how you can make a difference – we welcome any commitment you are able to give us. Here is more information about council:
Monsignor Haller School Council had a very rewarding 2018-2019 year. We held 4 meetings in October, December, January and April and worked on various school related initiatives during the school year including school news and activity updates, fundraising, gardening & school improvement discussions and supporting student needs.
These meetings are open to everyone to encourage input from parents and other members of the school community to inform our discussions of the various issues considered. The purpose of the school council is to improve pupil achievement and to enhance the accountability of the education system to parents, through the active participation of parents. School councils are advisory organizations. A school council’s primary means of achieving its purpose is by making recommendations to the principal of the school and the school board. Boards and principals are responsible to consider recommendations made by each school council and advise the council (s) of the actions taken in response to the recommendations
Additional achievements of the school council as well as fund-raising activities were conducted and the proceeds were used to fund projects in accordance with school board policies. These fundraising activities have been communicated to the school community over the course of the year (School Newswire Announcements, Paper Information & Weekly Updates as applicable) and is summarized in the financial summary. A summary of financial activity related to school council’s administrative and minutes of meetings held and financial records are available for your information at the school office. We wish to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the many individuals who volunteered their time to contribute to the success of the school council last year.
Finally, we would like to invite all parents to join our council this school year and/or attend any of our meetings. We welcome additional volunteers!
