Monthly Archives: May 2022

Good afternoon,

Things are VERY BUSY at Monsignor Haller and that is awesome!  A huge THANK YOU to the staff who are willing to take on so many extras for our students (ie. Athletics, excursions, extra-curricular clubs and activities, choir, eco initiatives, etc.).  Providing these many opportunities can only happen with a great deal of behind the scenes work and we are so thankful to be a part of such a wonderful community, filled with people willing to give their time.

Staffing Update ~ It is with mixed emotion that we are going to be wishing the wonderful Mrs. Neves all the best as she has an exciting professional opportunity to further her skills and experience at another organization beginning Thursday, June 2nd. We are grateful and sincerely thank Mrs. Neves for her dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to the Monsignor Haller School Community over the last few years. Mrs. Neves, please know we will miss you dearly!

International Students ~ We have had a wonderful opportunity to host eight students from Colombia for the last few weeks and are sad to be saying ‘goodbye’ to them on June 2nd. Our community is richer from learning more about their culture and community.

Are you moving?

Hello,

Are You Moving?

As we begin planning for the 2022-23 school year, it is important for the school to have up-to-date enrolment data which will be used for staffing and budget purposes. Please let the school know as soon as possible if you have moved or will be moving. If your phone number has changed, this is also important to be updated in case of an emergency.

Thank you.

The warm weather has arrived and the students in Grades 4 to 8 are preparing and looking forward to participating in our School Track and Field Meet tomorrow (Thursday, May 12th, 2022) at Resurrection Catholic Secondary School.

All students will participate in 3 track /1 field event OR 2 track / 2 field events. To ensure our success for the day, we have a few reminders for students and families to bring the following items:

  1. A nutritional lunch and snacks in a cooler, if possible – please avoid sending any milk products (e.g., mayo).
  2.  Plenty of water in non-breakable containers. Please do not send pop.
  3. Sunscreen is essential – ***min. SPF 30****
  4. Blanket or towel to sit on or to cover up with.
  5. Track pants, sweatshirt, appropriate length shorts, t-shirt, wind pants and jacket, and suitable running shoes. (No spikes).
  6. Umbrella and/or hat for the sun – there is very little shade – students need to protect themselves from the sun. Sunglasses are recommended.
  7. Raincoat if the weather prescribes it.
  8. There is no concession booth for the students. There is no need to send any money with your child.
  9. NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES (cell phones, ipods, MP3 players, video games, etc.)

KW Glee Excursion ~ Gr. 4-8 students

Unfortunately we have just received an update from the KW Glee Director that the school show for Grades 4-8 (scheduled for May 19th at the Conrad Centre) is being cancelled due to the vaccine policy of the venue. This is so disappointing as I know the anticipation and excitement for this wonderful performance.

Families will receive a refund in the next few days where payment was made. Please contact Mrs. Neves if you have questions about the refund. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
