This Week in the Nest:
The Angel Tree Toy Drive is just around the corner!
Our Toy Drive commence on Thursday November 14th. The completion of the Angel Tree campaign will be on Thursday, December 12th. On Friday, December 13th, members of our parish St. Vincent de Paul Society will collect the donations. Special thank you to our Council Advisory Council who reaches out to Corporate Sponsors for donations each year!
In the past we have found most gifts are for smaller children, and while we appreciate all of your thoughtful gifts, to help us meet the needs in the tween/teen age group, we offer the following suggestions:
“Something they want, something they need, something to share and something to read” is a catchy rule of thumb to think about when shopping.
- Movie theatre gift card
- Mall gift card
- Local food gift cards (Tim Horton’s, Starbucks)
Teen type gifts (Bath & Body Works, The Body Shop, coin purse, gloves, books, beanies, board games, card games, rubic’s cubes etc.)
We suggest items such as computer electronics be avoided as we do not know what the family has in regards to computers and games. If any item requires batteries, could you also supply them with the item.
Finally, please do not wrap the gifts as we send the gifts with hampers and let the parents see the gifts and if they are appropriate for the child. Our hugest thanks to our school community, as your thoughtfulness has certainly assisted many families.

“how did you get the answer?”
“are there other ways to get the answer?”
“where would you use this skill outside of school?” “how is this different?”
“what problems of your own can you make?”
“can you verify MY answer?”
