News from the ‘Nest’ ~ January 23, 2023

Good morning, Haller Hawk families:

This week we are celebrating Bell Let’s Talk Day. This is an opportunity to explore mental health to end stigmas surrounding mental health/illness. As a school, we endeavour to keep these important conversations going throughout the school year.

Staff and Student Health & Safety ~ Self-screening continues to be an important component of keeping all staff and students safe. Families are reminded to complete the covid screener for each child every day. It is very important that anyone feeling ill should not attend school. A huge thank you to all our families who use the screener, follow the guidelines each day.

Kindergarten registration 2023– 2024 ~ happening now! No experience needed

Student Clothing and Footwear

Given the winter/rainy weather, families are reminded to please send students with winter clothing including a coat, boots, hat and mittens (if possible). Students may also benefit from having extra socks and mittens in their backpacks when their other items get wet. When students are uncomfortable because they are cold and wet, learning and concentration are compromised.

Students would also benefit from having a separate pair of indoor shoes (ideally running shoes) for gym.

Thank you for ensuring your students are dressed for the weather conditions.
